Russia: Infrastructure development in Petersburg attracts tourists in 2009

Market insiders note that the occupancy rate of St. Petersburg-based hotels has grown due to the infrastructure development, including the infrastructure of St. Petersburg Sea Port and Pulkovo terminal. In 2009 the number of foreign tourists that visited the city on cruise ships improved from 396,000 people in 2008 to 428,500 people, including 244,300 visitors through Marine Facade port. The quantity of port calls improved from 317 to 323. Of the total, Marine Facade numbers 112 port calls.
