In Estonia, Lunden Food, an industrial kitchen, focused on take-away meals, signed a subcontracting agreement with the fuel retailer Statoil in October 2009, outwinning the supply contract from Fazer Amica. Lunden Food supplies pre-packaged sandwiches for retail in Statoil's service stations. The contract with Statoil has contributed to Lunden Food's turnover growth by a third. Lunden Food is also supplying precooked meals to Viking Line and Silja Line. Sales to cruising ships account for the bulk of the company's turnover. Lunden Food targets expansion in Finland and strengthening market position in Estonia in 2010. Rita Reim, marketing director at Fazer Amica, claims Fazer Amica focuses on freshness and low-shelf life sandwiches (up to seven days). Märt Vilbaum, a board member at Saarioinen Eesti, says Saarioinen supplied product range is by far wider than that supplied by Lunden Food.
